                               (2022-2023)

OCTOBER 13, 2022, CONSERVATION FIELD TRIP

Join us for a fascinating tour of the Ashburton Water Filtration Plant, located at 3001 Druid Park Drive in Baltimore.  We will learn how our drinking water is treated from the raw water source (how polluted is it??) to our homes.  As a water consumer, you have a right to see how it gets cleaned before you use it for drinking, flushing toilets, washing clothes and all the other water-intensive projects you do around your house.  (NOTE:  This is a free, 1-hour tour for just Hardy members starting at 10:00 am) Contact Donna Reid

APRIL 24, 2023, FIELD TRIP TO LONGWOOD GARDENS

This is a trip to Longwood Gardens to view the magnificent display of tulips and spring flowers.  Longwood is one of the premier horticultural display gardens in the United States and is open to visitors year-round. Details will be announced closer to the trip.

MAY 10, 2023, FIELD TRIP TO CASEY TREE FARM, BERRYVILLE, VA.

Casey Trees’ mission is to restore, enhance, and protect the tree canopy of Washington, D.C. Trees are being grown on Casey Tree Farm, a 730-acre tract located in Clarke County, Virginia.  Mrs. Casey donated the farm to Casey Trees in 2008.  Today the legacy of the farm lives on through Casey Tree Farm’s tree nursery, hay fields and the preservation and adaptive reuse of the historic structures on the site.

Either Mark Buscaino, the executive director, or Andrew, the chief operating officer, will be there to lead our tour along with the nursery manager. It is approximately a one hour forty-five-minute drive.  Lunch TBD.  Contact Debbie Kurz
